Hey, I'm Obi

My mission is to work with students and professionals to lead in responsible AI and cybersecurity, through education that is ethical, scalable, and rooted in community transformation.

My professional path spans academia, government, and the private sector. As an associate professor and research scientist, I've published over 20 peer-reviewed studies on cybersecurity, privacy, risk management, data, AI, and human-machine interaction.

My work shapes thinking on topics like algorithmic bias, risk management, behavioral security, and identity in digital environments.

In the classroom, I've taught graduate and undergraduate courses on machine learning, data science, data warehousing, cybersecurity management, and ethics of AI.

Started my career in product management, software development, QA & testing, data engineering, and enterprise security, translating business needs into trusted, working systems.

Government & Policy

A stint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services deepened my understanding of privacy, risk, regulation, and the ethical responsibilities tied to digital transformation.

Research & Teaching

Transitioned to academia as a researcher and professor, publishing extensively on AI ethics, cybersecurity, and human-technology interaction. Received a DHS grant as Principal Investigator.

I help professionals transition into AI governance careers and organizations build AI systems people can trust. One theme persists: building systems that align with human values.
